This opening is for a Senior Network Security Engineer in the Pittsburgh, PA region to perform project-based consulting with various customers to design, implement, and support Cisco and Arista networks. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, will work in a team environment, and has demonstrated the ability to resolve issues independently. Having a positive attitude that you display, along with excellent customer service and communication skills is key.
In this role you will work in a virtual office/office/client-based environment to assist customers with network security high-level and detailed design, implementation, operations, troubleshooting and issue resolution. You will develop documentation as it relates to project requirements, design, and architecture. The consultant will also develop customer-facing presentations for designed technology solutions. Strong documentation and writing skills are required to complete assessment and design reports for our customers.
You will:
Assess, design, implement, troubleshoot, and document enterprise network security and related systems.
Develop both high-level and detailed implementation and test plans for network security technologies related to enterprise networks.
Provide knowledge transfer and informal training to clients.
Qualifications
Strong skills and experience in enterprise network security are required. Skills in the following areas are expected to support upcoming projects:
Ten (10) years of experience creating, modifying, installing and trouble-shooting Cisco and Palo Alto firewall configurations required.
Design and implementation experience with Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, and PRISMA required.
Design and implementation experience with Cisco Firewalls (ASA; Firepower including Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Firepower Management Center (FMC) required.
Experience with securing OT networks and equipment utilizing the Purdue model preferred.
Minimum (5) years of experience in network security design and architecture.
Five to ten years of experience in Cisco routing/switching.
Cisco CCNA and/or CCNP certifications required.
Palo Alto PCNSE desirable.
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) –desirable.
Experience with Network Management Tools.
Familiarity with Cisco TrustSec and Cisco ISE Policy creation.
At least five (5) years of experience independently managing multiple projects and larger scale network projects.
Experience in a consultative capacity – desirable.
Passion for learning and an organized and professional approach to designing and implementing solutions.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Six (6) years of general experience is considered equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree.
Continuous learning required.
Certification attainment, updates and re-certifications required.

Must be able to work with practice lead to coordinate scheduling to meet customer needs, sometimes juggling multiple projects at one time.
Must routinely communicate work status and potential issues to practice lead without prompting.
