Hybrid role in Pittsburgh, PA for a Senior Rail Systems Engineer (Contract 6 months+).

Must be local to Pittsburgh, PA.

In this Systems Engineer role, you will analyze customer specifications, industry standards, and internal processes to develop comprehensive design requirements. This role involves close collaboration with electrical hardware and software engineering teams to guide and execute designs that meet client expectations. 

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer specifications, industry standards, and company processes to define design requirements for rail technology systems.
• Interface with and guide electrical hardware and software engineering professionals to ensure alignment and successful execution of design work.
• Prepare design documentation and technical reports for customer review and approval.
• Maintain robust tracking and management of project requirements using tools such as DOORS, Jazz, or MS Excel, among others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering 
• 8-15 years of experience in a requirements management role, with a strong understanding of systems engineering principles.
• Experience with requirements design tools such as DOORS and Jazz or other similar tools 
• Excellent communication skills to facilitate customer interactions and documentations presentations.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
