This position is responsible for managing projects involving design, development, maturation, and deployment of robotics technologies for autonomous aerial vehicle applications. Directed by Senior Project Managers and/or Program Managers, the Project Manager performs assigned managerial tasks, following recommended approaches to coordinate activities, ensure successful completion of tasks on schedule and on budget, and facilitate desired results. This position is a step on a growth path to Senior Project Manager.
Summary of responsibilities includes:
Work with project technical leads and other program managers to facilitate the creation of project plans including budgets, schedules, work breakdowns, and tasking necessary to achieve project objectives.
Assist in defining and monitoring dependencies, risks, requirements, and resource allocations.
Coordinate activities with other project managers and engineering personnel to ensure successful completion of tasks.
Help identify issues, including resource and priority conflicts, within and between projects.
Track and communicate expenditures, schedule status, resourcing, technical progress, and path forward towards fulfillment of milestones and deliverables.
Document and convey progress/status to internal stakeholders and external customers via quad charts, monthly reports, and presentations.
Interface with program managers, technical leads, engineering, flight operations, and production personnel in support of various company initiatives.
Areas for growth include:
Develop comprehensive project plans including technical scope, cost estimates, and schedule projections in support of strategic planning, business development, and proposal activities.
Provide/recommend solutions for resolution of issues, including resource and priority conflicts, within and between projects.
Assist with configuration management, information management, test data support, documentation management, integrated logistics support, and quality assurance activities across project and/or product lifecycles.
Evaluate recommended changes/improvements to quality improvement processes, procedures, policies, and plans.
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related Engineering field is required.
Experience in planning, organizing, and executing projects, preferably within robotics enterprises.
Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to balance multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Experience contributing to R&D and/or technology maturation efforts in Department of Defense (DoD) environments is preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (or in course) is preferred.
Prior experience managing technology productization is a plus.
Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles is a plus.
