PYROTECNICO, A LEADER IN THE FIREWORKS AND SPECIAL EFFECTS INDUSTRY, HAS AN IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR AN ELECTRONICS REPAIR TECHNICIAN
The candidate hired for this role must be willing to train for a minimum of 3 - 6 months in our Burbank, CA facility.
Position Summary/Objective: The Electronics Repair Technician applies knowledge of electrical/electronics and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. The ERT plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, following local and national electrical codes, understanding and using properties of various electronic materials, and using principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
Essential Functions: While not all-inclusive, the following is a list of primary and general duties. In addition to these listed duties, this position shall also perform other tasks as assigned, shall abide by all provisions of the Employee Manual, and shall participate in company initiatives and projects.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, power supplies, drives, and testing equipment.
Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures, and in line with OSHA and other government requirements.
Maintain company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed.
Assist warehouse personnel with technical/electronics troubleshooting and trains staff as needed.
Accurately pack equipment for shows, and load and unload trucks, as needed.
Provide assistance to other warehouse staff with regular warehouse duties, as needed.
Perform all duties in keeping with company safety/compliance and standards
Preferred Education and Experience
A thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
Three to five years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics and mechanical fields.
Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field.
Ability to follow all safety protocols without exception.
Experience and ability to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced environment and often changing, with high attention to detail.
Use basic skills in safe operation of standard hand and power tools.
Experience building, repairing and soldering cables.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with lasers and other electronics equipment using Windows platforms.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation, and must be able to successfully pass a government background check per ATF requirements.
Knowledge and proper use of hand tools and standard diagnostic tools (ie multimeter, oscilloscope, power meter), soldering irons, and other tools as is common to this type of work.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
The person in this role must be able to frequently move about the facility -- walk, bend, stoop, stand and climb, and at times, remain stationary depending on the task. This person in this role will work in a warehouse and office environment and be exposed to loud noises and hot/cold temperatures. This person will have routine contact with individuals in all areas and levels of the facility. The person in this role must frequently climb stairs, move equipment and work at a fast pace frequently. The person in this role must have the ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally, and up to 70 lbs frequently. The person in this role will have the ability to work varying hours and long stretches at a time.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Hours of work will vary depending on the business need, but for the most part the person in this role will have a standard schedule set by the Facility Manager. The person in this role can expect working a longer than normal work day during peak business times per business need and may work overtime.
This position may require some travel - less than 25%. Travel may be international, so the individual in this role will be legally able to cross borders in other states and countries.
